Olivia Catherine Skoczylas died in her parents' arms at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois on July 9, 2021 at the age of 9.

Olivia was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 3, 2012 to Edward and Bridget Skoczylas. Besides her parents she leaves behind a devoted and loving younger sister, Emma.

Olivia enjoyed simple things. She loved to play music, to be in the water and splash, and she loved to have her hair done. She gave her all in her therapies and school work and she never ever gave up. Although she had no words she spoke through her many facial expressions. Her beautiful smile was contagious. Not only did it light up the room but it filled your heart with love. Time stopped when Olivia laughed because you would have to laugh along with her.

Olivia was so loved by her protective sister Emma who insisted on helping care for her. Emma often read and sang to her.  She showed her love with her many hugs and kisses. Emma also insisted a selfie with Olivia be taken nearly daily.

Although her time on Earth was short her impact on those she encountered was profound. Her strong work ethic was inspirational. Her snuggles were priceless. Thank you Olivia for your love and blessing us with your smile. You brought so much joy to so many and you will be dearly missed.

Visitations for Olivia will be Thursday July 15th 2021 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home 7812 N. Milwaukee Ave. Niles from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services Friday 9:00 AM to St. Paul of the Cross Church for mass at 10:00 AM. Interment Maryhill Cemetery.
