William "Bill" Ball

On December 27, 2025, William "Bill" Ball passed away at the age of 95.  Bill was born in 1930, in Chicago, IL where he lived with his parents, Bill and Pearl.  He had two younger sisters, Laverne and Lois.  By trade Bill was a butcher, following in his dad's footsteps.  His dad owned a meat market in Evanston, IL where Bill worked and learned the trade.  Bill's dad went on to open a hotdog stand in 1949, Bill's Drive In, in Evanston.  After Bill served in the Air Force from 1951 -1953, he joined his dad and sisters in the family business.  Bill went on to own and run Bill's Drive In once his dad retired. In the year 2000, Bill sold the hotdog stand and retired to Spring Hill, FL with his wife, Laverne "Bubbles".

Bill enjoyed boating.  He owned two boats over the years and enjoyed spending time with family and friends on Lake Michigan. In the late 1990s, Bill rediscovered the game of golf and enjoyed many courses in Illinois and later in Florida.

Bill is lovingly remembered by his sister Lois, his children David (Marjorie), Linda (Mark) and Robin (Robert), his grand-children, Marisa, Chris (Lauren), Brandon (Sabrah), Justin (Beth), Christy (John), Timothy, Andrew (Mackenzie), Samantha (Hugo), Hayley (Josh), Michael and Ellie, his great- grandchildren, Tesa, Armond, Enzo, Lily, Leo, Nolan and Kennedy and his niece Pat (Jim).
