Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Virginia E. Maggio, who we lost on December 24, 2024. Virginia is remembered as a beloved wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Virginia was born February 1928 in Chicago and the loving daughter to Amelia and Henry Borgardt.

Virginia kept busy needle pointing, crocheting, knitting, and taking care of her family. She found great joy being a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a loving friend to her neighbors.

Virginia worked for Skill Saw over 30 years. Virginia loved to travel with her late husband Edward. They enjoyed winters in Arizona. In her free time, Virginia loved watching Wheel of Fortune and her beloved Hallmark movies.

Virginia was a beautiful, loving lady and will be remembered for her kindness for all. Her love for God was strong, and she attended church every Sunday on television.

In the summertime, Virginia and her two beautiful neighbors, Livia and Joann, would sit in her yard catching up on life. We would love to see the three "amigas" hang out. Virginia always welcomed her family when they visited from out of town.

Recently, Virginia became a great grandmother to her twelfth great grandchild.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, ex-husband Edward T. Fritz, husband Edward D. Maggio, and daughter Denise Schrock.

She is also survived by her son Bret E. Fritz, daughter-in-law Kathryn Donovan-Fritz, son-in-law James Schrock, six grandchildren, and 12 great children. Also, survived by many nieces and nephews, three step granddaughters, and her granddogs.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Virginia's life on January 4, 2025 from 10am until 1pm at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home, 7812 North Milwaukee Ave, Niles, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Saint Jude's Hospital, which was Virginia's favorite charity. Www.stjude.org
