Ronald J.
Loris
Aug 18, 1943 — Jul 21, 2023
Niles
Ronald John Loris age 79, entered into God's kingdom on July 21st, 2023. He was born August 18th, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois to John and Anne (nee Chrusciel) Loris.
Visitation will take place from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 27th at The Skaja Terrace Funeral Home, 7812 N. Milwaukee Ave. Niles, IL 60714 and on Friday, July 28th 2023 from 9:30am until prayers at 10:15 am then we will proceed to St. John Brebeuf Church 8307 N. Harlem Ave. Niles for Mass at 11:00 am . There will be a luncheon following the funeral Mass.
Ronald grew up on the Northwest side and later lived just beyond city limits in Niles and lived a full life in this part of the Chicagoland area. He attended Lane Tech High School, University of Illinois (Circle Campus), and went on to DePaul Law School graduating with a Juris Doctorate Degree. He worked for several law firms, while developing his own side practice. Ronald prioritized carving out free time for family on evenings and weekends, even turning down employment offers from other larger law firms because he thought it may interfere with his recreational passions, especially in the summer, where you could find him on Fox Lake boating and waterskiing with family and friends. He loved to vacation in the Upper Peninsula or his winter home in Pompano Beach, Florida. He loved getting together with his family, celebrating any occasion. When he retired he took up bicycle riding, and watching historical documentaries.
Ronald had the personality and natural charisma to make friends no matter the situation, and his laugh was infectious to everyone around him. A man of many stories, some factual and others factual-ish, all that would draw out inspiring conclusions or a good laugh. A man with a simple taste of black jeans, flannel shirts and hundreds of baseball hats, he focused on providing for his wife and daughter with the best life possible. Ronald was a great man whose impact will be forever felt by his friends and family, that loves him dearly. His ability to provide, support and love will be forever engrained in all he knew.
Ronald a loving husband is survived by his wife Katharine Loris; his daughter Lauri (Steve) Berger; his granddaughter Abby Berger; his nieces and nephews Danette (Jim) Heim, Mark Maynard, John Maynard, Kimberly (Michael) Koch, Matthew (Heather) Koerner, Alissa Koerner, Eric Koerner and the late Scott; his great nephews Sam Heim, Chase Heim, Josh Heim, Thomas Koch, Andrew Koch, and Dylan Koerner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his sisters Joan (Stan) Hrycak, and Deanna (Mitch) Maynard. .
