Raymond
Godzicki
Jul 14, 1931 — Apr 23, 2026
Raymond W. Godzicki was the beloved husband of Alice for 67 years, and a loving father to James, Debbie, (Steve), Cindy, (Tom), and Kathleen (Kurt). He was a proud grandfather to Bradley, Dana, Christie, Eric and Matthew.
Raymond, who brought warmth, laughter, and unwavering love to all who knew him, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026, just shy of his 95th birthday. He was born on July 14, 1931, and lived a full and vibrant life. His family will always remember him as the kindest, sweetest, and most loving man. Someone who greeted life with a smile, and a heart filled with gratitude & generosity. He was always laughing and had a deep devotion to his family.
He served his country with honor as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Raymond also pursued his education at DeVry College and built a career as an electrical engineer where his strong work ethic and steady character were evident to all.
In his younger years, Raymond embraced life with enthusiasm and energy. He played left guard, wearing #21, on his high school's very first football team. He loved all sports.
Raymond had a wide range of passions and hobbies. He was an avid bowler who participated in several leagues, a dedicated coin collector who delighted in sharing his hobby with his grandchildren, and a lover of games and puzzles. Whether it was crossword puzzles, Sudoku, or a spirited game of checkers, he was always ready for a challenge and often came out on top. He was an avid reader of books. He would read 2 to 3 books every week and was a regular face at the library.
He also had a zest for life's simple pleasures. Raymond was a true foodie, enjoying everything from a perfectly cooked steak to a simple chicken leg, and never passing up a slice of strawberry shortcake. He loved the excitement of games of chance, especially poker and slot machines, and treasured his trips to Las Vegas.
Above all, Raymond will be remembered for his joyful spirit. He was always happy, often answering the phone with laughter, and carried a smile that could brighten any room. His presence brought comfort and happiness to those around him, and his legacy of love will live on through his family.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
May he rest in peace.
