Raymond J. Banicki, age 95; fourth son of Ignatz and Anna Banicki; dearest brother of the late Julia (the late Joseph) Cypcar, the late Stephanie (the late Fredrick) Gorczyca, the late Leopold (the late Bernice) Banicki, the late Henry (the late Marian) Banicki, the late Stephen, the late Richard (the late Esther) Banicki, Dorothy (Edward) Panszczyk; cherished uncle of: the late Dorothy Cypcar, Sylvia Cypcar, Robert (the late Sally) Gorczyca, Raymond (Marianna) Gorczyca, Roger(the late Bonnie, the late Jan) Banicki, Leroy (Cynthia) Banicki, Douglas (Cathy) Banicki, Joseph (Robin) Banicki, Michael Banicki, Cathy Reich, James (Pauline) Banicki, Nancy (David) Imundo, Linda Panszczyk, Laura (Nicholas) Trnka; cherished great uncle, great-great uncle and friend to many. Raymond was born in Chicago, IL on July 10, 1927, the sixth child of eight children. In December 1945 he served in World War II in the U.S. Army enlisting at Fort Belvoir, VA and served in 977th Sig. Service Co., Caserta, Italy and was discharged in April of 1947. He enjoyed going to harness horse races, spending time outdoors and loved the cottage in Antioch. Ray looked forward to playing poker with family and friends. He travelled with his brothers, nephews and friends to many interesting lakes and rivers on fishing trips. One of his greatest pleasures was relaxing on the bench in the yard, chatting with neighbors with one of his many loving companions "Minnie" by his side and a good cigar.
