It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Paul E. Chovanec, a loving Father, and Grandfather, who passed away peacefully on March 15, 2025, at the age of 77. He was born in Chicago, on March 10, 1948 to Paul and Mary Ann Chovanec (Jednock).  Loving Father of Paul (Marissa), Kimberlee Byrne and Jennifer (Gregory) Blahnik. Devoted Grandfather of Allison, Jason, Noelle, Pauly, Olivia and Evelyn. Great-Grandfather of Zola Rose.

He earned his Bachelor's degree from Northeastern University. Paul worked in Purchasing, Sales and Security. The only thing Paul enjoyed more than working was spending time with his children, grandchildren and his friends. He showed up to every game/event possible, until he physically couldn't and then he'd happily watch the games/events on his Iphone. He was a diehard Chicago White Sox fan. He was a dedicated volunteer Usher on Saturdays at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church for many years.

He is survived by his brothers Russell (Virginia), Allan (Sheila) and many adored nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister and brother in-law, Cynthia and Michael Grosvenor and nephew, Steven Chovanec, as well as many beloved extended family members.

A funeral mass will be held on Monday, March 24, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church. Interment will be private at a future date at St. Adalbert's Catholic Cemetery. A special thank you to the Staff at Sunny Hill Nursing Home of Will County for their wonderful love and support of our Dad over the past few years.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Friends of Sunny Hill where our Dad spent his final years with new friends he grew to consider family.
