Obituary

Michael P. Puccia, age 64, of Des Plaines, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly at home on November 14, 2025.
Born on February 5, 1961, in Chicago, Mike spent his childhood in the city's Humboldt Park neighborhood before eventually settling in the suburbs, where he built a warm and welcoming life surrounded by family and friends.

Mike was a gifted automotive mechanic—"the fixer" of all things—known for his ability to solve any problem and his willingness to help anyone who needed a hand. His mellow demeanor, caring heart, and selfless nature defined him. He put others before himself without hesitation, offering support, kindness, and steady guidance to all who knew him.

He was the family photographer, always capturing the moments that became cherished memories. A proud Chicago sports fan and a devoted Cubs supporter, Mike was also a decorated and passionate bowler who made lasting friendships at every alley he visited.

Above all, Mike was a fantastic role model and a deeply loving presence—as an adoring grandfather, devoted uncle and cousin, supportive brother-in-law, and true friend. His dogs adored him as well, especially for his unmatched skills as the ultimate snuggler and treat-giver.

Mike was the loving son of the late Vincent and Rena Puccia. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Karen McDade, his son Christopher McDade, his daughter Jenna Gumprecht, her husband Brian Gumprecht, and their children—Mylah and Dallas, Mike's beloved grandchildren whom he absolutely adored.
He is also survived by his sister Angie Flynn (and preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Flynn) and his brother Vincent "Vinny" Puccia and Vinny's wife Cathy. Mike was a cousin to many and a treasured part of an extended family and community who will miss him dearly.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 18, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home, 7812 N Milwaukee Ave., Niles, IL 60714.
A prayer service will take place at 7:30 PM. This will conclude services, as Mike will be cremated.

Mike's legacy is one of love, reliability, laughter, and quiet strength. He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered by all whose lives he touched.
