Mary Ann
Beller
Oct 3, 1958 — Jul 31, 2026
Des Plaines
Mary Ann Beller, daughter of the late Walter and Lorraine Lazicki, wife to Scott, mom to Alexa (Tyler) and Zach (Allie), grandma to Leah, sister of Phillip (Helen), John (Mary), and the late Peter, and dear aunt and friend to many passed on July 31, 2026 from complications relating to pancreatic cancer. Throughout her life and illness Mary Ann shared her endless positivity with everyone around her and continued to live to life's fullest extent on her terms.
Mary Ann was a deeply devoted caregiver, as a mother and grandmother, teacher, aunt, and wife; she drew great joy in providing for those around her and watching them grow and learn. She could always be counted on to dote on children – getting them an extra Christmas gift or reading them yet another book. She loved gardening and was especially a prolific tomato grower sending 115 plants of twenty-three varieties to friends and family across four states this season. She relished sharing her passion with her granddaughter Leah with trips to the Garfield Park Conservatory and treasured the strawberries and zinnias Leah planted for her. Mary Ann had a strong affinity for animals and was a devoted mom to her furry children, the late Cody and Jesse. She was known to take them on every car ride and walk her neighborhood with them for hours catching up with neighbors as she passed.
Mary Ann was full of kindness and curiosity about the people around her. She loved learning and sharing with those around her and it was never surprising to hear a story from her about the neighbor down the street, the CT tech downstairs, or the Dominick's cashier. She was a light to those around her that brought a sense of community to anyone in her vicinity. She will be dearly missed and leaves us – her family, friends, and many others – a little brighter with her memory.
