Martin Koenig, age 93, beloved father of Sylvia (Arthur) Iwaniec, and Walter Koenig; loving grandfather of Alec Christian and Eric Anthony Iwaniec; dear brother of the late Resi (late Nick) Marz, and the late Juliana Koenig; former husband of Maria Koenig, and loving companion of Marie Petto for over 15 years. Martin was a longtime member of the German American Aid Society, and the Donauschwaben German Club, and numerous Chicago soccer clubs. He enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears, but was also a Green Bay Packers fan due to owning his summer "salash" in Wisconsin Dells. He loved to travel and saw almost half the world. Martin also enjoyed watching westerns. He also loved his highballs-- prost to all. Visitation at the Skaja Terrace Funeral Home 7812 N. Milwaukee Avenue Niles on Thursday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a service at 7:00 PM. Funeral Friday at 11:30 AM.
