Obituary

Marion Bernadette Wozniak of Park Ridge passed away peacefully in her home on April 18, 2025. She was 97.

She was born on August 9, 1927 to Jacob and Anna (Celar) Korenchan in Chicago.  She was raised in Berwyn along with her older sister Loretta (Korenchan) Spingola and younger brother Reverend William Korenchan, a Columban missionary priest.  Her parents and siblings predeceased her, as well as nephew Michael Spingola.

For most of her career she worked as a Trans World Airlines (TWA) stewardess from the early 1950s until her retirement more than 35 years later.  She met many celebrities on flights that carried her throughout the United States, Europe and Asia.

On September 1, 1972 she married Walter Wozniak of Chicago.  They did not have children.  They enjoyed many years of travel together.  They both especially enjoyed their gambling jaunts to Las Vegas until Walter's Death in 2002.

Marion was exceptionally talented at creating many craft items which she made for her church Our Lady of Ransom's annual Christmas Bazaar.  She coordinated that effort for years and was the main designer of many of the crafts.

In her golden years Marion enjoyed playing bridge, reading Western, Romance and Amish novels and her daily newspapers cover to cover.  She went on many senior day trips to see plays and enjoy luncheons with her friends from her church and her community.

Most of all she looked forward to spending time with her family, especially the new babies, and she treasured all of those new memories with each and every person.

Marion is survived by two nieces, two nephews, 11 great nieces and nephews, 19 great great nieces and nephews.
