Marie A. Jejski, age 75, of Glendale Heights, IL, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, June 1, 2025, at Elmhurst Hospital after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born on May 30, 1950, in Chicago, IL, a daughter of the late William and Leona (née Servedio) Romani.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Michael F. Jejski, and her sister, Dorene M. (née Romani) Kirtz. She is survived by her son, Michael J. Jejski; her daughter, Diana M. (Joseph W.) Basso; her grandson, Joseph M. Basso; and her beloved nieces, whom she loved like daughters: Mary L. Kirtz and Jaclyn M. (Ryan) Argall. She also leaves behind her grand-niece, Sadie Dorene Argall.

Marie was a beloved homemaker, known for her incredible cooking—famous for her Christmas cookies (especially her sour cream knots), gavadeels, red sauce, pot roast, and her often-requested potato salad. She was loving, caring, and kind, with a gift for finding humor in nearly anything. She cherished time spent cooking for her daughter, son-in-law, and grandson. Marie was the best Nana to Joey, whom she lived to spoil, just as she loved spoiling her dogs, Becca and Luna.

Marie was a soul who deeply loved others and was deeply loved by many. May her memory live on in the hearts of those who love her. She will be greatly missed.

Funeral Service Saturday, June 7, 2025.  Please gather at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home at 9:15 AM for a prayer service, followed by a procession to Saint John Brebeuf Parish for a 10:00 AM Mass.
Immediately following the Mass, the procession will continue to Maryhill Catholic Cemetery.
