Louis D.
Aiello
Dec 16, 1935 — Jan 31, 2026
Chicago
We are saddened to announce the passing of
Louis Dominic Aiello
on Saturday, January 31, 2026, in Highland, California at the age of 90.
Born Dec. 16, 1935, in Tiffin, Ohio, Mr. Aiello was raised on Chicago's near North Side. From an early age, Louis demonstrated remarkable athletic ability. As a young man, his strength and stature led him to a successful football career at Lane Technical High School. Louis's love of sports continued throughout his life, and he excelled in softball, bowling, and golf well into adulthood.
While in high school he met his future wife, Anna Mae Scianna, who attended a neighboring Waller High School. They were married in 1956 and shared 61 devoted years together until her passing.
Louis Aiello learned the culinary and meat-cutting trades from his father, Casimer and together they opened Cas & Lou's Ristorante on Irving Park Road in Chicago. Cas & Lou's grew to become a successful and longtime authentic neighborhood favorite that operated for 38 years. The family run operation employed generations of relatives and served as the backdrop for countless celebrations, laughter, and lasting memories for family and friends.
Louis is lovingly remembered by his sister Rosalie, his brother Salvatore, his daughters Cynthia and Josephine, his grandchildren Lauren, Christopher, and Matthew, and his great-grandchildren Connor and Keira. He was preceded in death by his parents, Casimer and Frances Aiello, his beloved wife Anna Mae, and his daughter Frances.
Louis will be profoundly missed by his loving family and many friends.
May he rest in peace.
