Lois J.
Disclafani
Apr 26, 1928 — Jan 20, 2023
Lois J. Disclafani (nee Obermeyer), age 94, was surrounded by family when she left this earth and was called home. She was born in Chicago to John and Helen (nee Morawski) Obermeyer. Lois was the beloved wife of the late Joseph (Bud) Disclafani, loving mother of Kathleen Gustafson, Mary Disclafani (Jack Cotto), the late Johnny Disclafani, Richard (Jeannine) Disclafani, Judy (Jeff) Rosenblum, and Timothy Disclafani. She was also the cherished grandmother of the late Laura Gustafson, Crystal Trinidad, Jennifer Reyes, Anita Brown, Stephanie Cardeno, Samantha Cardeno, Amanda Christie, Martha Henry, and Joseph Disclafani and dearest great-grandmother of Caisa Herrera; Martin, Yesenia and Giovanny Crespo; Jasmine Figueroa; Manny and Noah Trinidad-Torres; Beckett, Elowynn (and a baby girl on the way) Henry; Aubrey, Riley and Myles Christie; Elizabeth and Jaxson Brown; and Reagan and Reese Disclafani. Lois, already blessed with all of these beautiful grandchildren, joyfully became the precious great-great-grandmother to Elliana Crespo last year. She was a dear sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, great-great aunt and cousin to many. Nothing was more important to her than family.
Lois was a beautiful soul and everyone who met her, loved her. Her sense of humor always met with laughter and sometimes even surprise. She was very quick witted, still had a pretty darn good memory and was easy to engage with in conversation. Her belief in Jesus and her strong devotion to the Blessed Mother was with her every day and got her through the difficult times of her life.
Over the past year or so, mom would not want to say goodbye when hanging up the phone – instead it was always "I love you, Toodle-oo."
Memorial Visitation will be Saturday, February 11, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home, 7812 N. Milwaukee Ave., in Niles, with a prayer service at 11:30 AM. Interment will follow at Maryhill Cemetery in Niles, beside her loved husband, Bud and together with her adored son, Johnny.
In memory of mom, donations can be made to St. Jude , Shriners Hospital or The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research .
