Vaupel, age 89, of Chicago, beloved husband of Emma Vaupel nee Batjes, loving father of Donna Kenney, Cathleen (Joseph) Krakowka, Janine (John) Beckman; cherished grandfather of Michael (Dee) Kenney, Melissa Kenney, Linsey Krakowka, Emma Beckman and Paul Beckman; dearest great grandfather of Michael Jr., Sebastian and Mia; dear brother of Alvin (Karen) Vaupel, the late Elizabeth Koelling, the late Lois (the late Richard) Mironas and the late Richard Vaupel; fond uncle of many. Lawrence was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War, a former Chicago Police Officer and former owner of Windy City Heating and Air Conditioning in Chicago. Lawrence loved his family, truly enjoyed his work, loved to tell stories (over and over again), and loved Walmart jelly donuts with the white vanilla frosting.
