John Jakubco

June 1, 1955 - May 21, 2025

Loving husband of 43 years to Nancy (Grand) and proud, caring father of Allison and Jonathan (Erin), whom he loved dearly and shared his love of travel, cars, movies and more with.

John loved & admired all of his nieces and nephews & loved watching their families grow. John was especially close to Eric & Trish, Luke, Grace & Claire, Leslie, Alex and Lauren and enjoyed parties, Tripoly nights, FL vacations, just hanging out with them and amusing the little kids with his odd humor.

John felt love & happiness from many lifelong friends, his and Nancy's work friends, North Shore Corvette Club friends, his new FL friends who became family and many more.  No friendships ran as deep, however, as his friendship with Steve and Patti; a lifelong bond filled with incredible, fun memories & stories.

Survived by his mother Elaine, sisters Janice, aka Boo (Nick), JoAnn (Jack), Jayne (Dan), brother-in-law Tom (Karen) and too many cousins to count that he loved visiting with. Preceded in death by his father Michael, in-laws Les & Ellen and twin cousin Dave.

Born in Chicago, John embraced much of what being raised here entails.  John was a Cubs fan, Bears fan, loved Chicago pizza, Chicago style hot dogs, beef sandwiches & couldn't believe our FL friends didn't know what giardiniera was!

John's hobbies were cars, mainly his Corvettes, and tinkering in his workshop.  His passion was travel and he loved planning family vacations and numerous adventures throughout the US and Europe with Nancy, Alli & Jon.  John and Nancy traveled extensively in their later years, especially enjoying European travels and their condo in FL.

Please, no flowers. Nancy will be making a donation to the American Cancer Society in John's name & the monies will be better spent to help others fighting the fight.
