Joanne Katsoolias December 5, 1946 – May 7, 2023
Joanne Katsoolias, (nee DeTolve).. Beloved Wife of John. Devoted Mother of Anna Marie (John) Panchisin, Diane Katsoolias and Nick Katsoolias, Loving Grandmother of Luke, Charles, Johnny, Everett, and Elliana, passed away on May 7, 2023 at the age of 76.
Born to Italian immigrants on December 5, 1946, in Chicago, Joanne was the youngest of 3, her sister Margaret and late brother Andrew. Throughout her life, Joanne was known for her vibrant and spunky personality. She approached each day with energy and an intense devotion to her husband and children. A friendship with Joanne wasn't always easy, but it was always worth it. Her legacy will be one of modesty, family and community. She did it all, she traveled, golfed, bowled, danced… she lived in a great era and was fortunate to retire early and enjoy her friends and family.
As the daughter of Italian immigrants, Joanne embraced her cultural heritage and its traditions. She instilled in her family a love for Italian cuisine, customs, and values.
In addition to her love for the Cubs and her dog Rizzo, Joanne found joy in watching her grandsons play hockey. She was their biggest cheerleader, attending games with unwavering support and beaming with pride. Her love for them was immeasurable, and she cherished the moments spent with each of them.
Joanne's devotion to her family was unmatched. She was a loving mother to her three children and took great pride in their accomplishments as well. Her unwavering support and love were a constant source of strength for her children and husband, who will forever be grateful for the memories they shared.
The beautiful irony of Joanne's final days, was that the care and dedication she gave her whole life, was returned by her devoted husband and loving family whom she was surrounded by in her final moments.
