Evelyn A. Korus, 94 passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 31, 2024. Evelyn was a loving wife to Chester Korus, who preceded her in death in 2016.  She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. Evelyn attended St. Mary of Nazareth School of Nursing in Chicago and worked as a RN in the Cardiac Care Unit at St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago for many years, while raising her four children. She will be forever remembered as a hard working and well respected nurse. Evelyn was a beloved mother to John (Jan Leiberman) Korus, James (Jimmie Tussey) Korus , Sharon (Frank) Goff and David (Margie) Korus. She was Grandma to her ten grandchildren and Great Grandma to seventeen great grandchildren. Earlier on, together with Chester, Evelyn would enjoy long walks both here in Chicago and in Arizona where they lived for ten years.  Her family and friends know that Evelyn had a special place in her heart for kittens. She was a master of the best homemade Pierogi and Kolachky. Evelyn led a quiet life and had a true love for Jesus and her Catholic Church. She is now at peace with her Savior whom she had been longing to meet. As per her wishes, a private family Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Juliana Church on September 10. Interment at Maryhill Cemetery.  Mom, we will miss you forever.
