Obituary

Eugene Mikowski, age 87, of Niles, beloved husband of Halina Mikowski; loving father of Bernadette Strickland, Mark Mikowski (Olivia), and Christopher Mikowski (Jenn); loving grandfather of Nathan Strickland; loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.  Eugene is also survived by brother Adam, and sisters Krystyna and Anna.  Along with his parents Władyslaw and Teodosia, Eugene is preceded in death by 2 brothers, Marian and Czesław and 2 sisters Josepha and Czesława.

Born in Broniszów, Poland, Eugene became an organist at the early age of 15, with his start as the organist in the village of Mała, Poland.  He then obtained his organist certification, and went on to become the organist in Zawada, Poland.  Very soon after arriving in the United States in 1964, he became the Organist and Choir Director at St. Francis of Assisi Parish (15 years), and then continued his career at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, through the 80's and 90's up to his retirement (35 years).  He continued to share his talent and skill as a freelance organist when needed up to the time of his passing.  Eugene met Halina when he was the organist in Mała.  They married in 1964, and remained married for 60 years.  Eugene brought much passion and energy to everything he did.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Eugeniusz Mikowski lat 87 z Niles.

Ukochany mąż Haliny, Kochany ojciec Bernadety, Marka i Krzysztofa.

W wieku 15 lat, rozpoczął przygodę z organami i za dwa lata trafił zawodowo do wsi Mała, gdzie poznał swą przyszłą małżonkę Halinę.
