David M.
Sampson
Feb 17, 1949 — Sep 1, 2026
David Sampson, age 77, passed away resting peacefully on 09/01/2026. Beloved Husband of the late Katharina Sampson. Loving Father of Brian (Cheryl) Sampson and the late Michael Sampson. Dear Opa of Jace and Cade Sampson. Son of La Verne Sampson and the late Willard Sampson. Treasured extended family member of the Strumberger Family. Cherished Papa of Doreen (Tim) Rottman, Jackie and Julia and a loyal friend to all.
One of his greatest joys was traveling with his beloved wife of 57 years, the late Katharina Sampson. Together, they created wonderful memories on cruises, explored national parks, had many trips to Florida and traveled various part of the world. Whether discovering new places or simply enjoying time together, he treasured every adventure they shared.
David took great pride in his career as a union plumber. He was hardworking, dependable and incredibly handy. There was nothing he couldn’t figure out how to fix or build, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand. His skills, determination, and willingness to help others were just a few qualities that made him so special.
Outside of work and family, he enjoyed golfing, watching football, and spending time talking with the people around him. He enjoyed a good conversation and had a way of making people feel welcome and comfortable. He never hesitated to share his knowledge, skills and anything he had with family and friends. His stories, opinions, humor and straightforward personality will be deeply missed by everyone that knew him.
Though he recently faced many health challenges, he continued to fight to do all he could to remain with his loved ones. The family is deeply grateful to the caregivers who became an important part of his life, whose kindness brought him comfort, especially Liz. Their care and compassion will always be remembered and appreciated.
The memories of the life he shared with us will live on in our hearts forever.
