Chrysoula Maskaleris, age 75, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 5, 2025.
She was the loving wife of the late Gus Maskaleris and the cherished daughter of the late Chris and Fotini (Metrakis) Koutsogiannis, of Tegea, Greece. Chrysoula was adored by her siblings and their spouses, Gus (Vaso) Koutsogiannis, Pat (the late George) Arvanitis, and Nick (Donna) Giannis. Although she had no children of her own, she deserved and blessedly enjoyed the deep love and affection that her nieces and nephews felt towards her. They include nephews Peter (wife Toula) and George (wife Sophia) Arvanitis, Tom Adams, Chris Koutsogiannis (sister Fotini), and Chris Giannis. Her niece Dina Adams considered Chrysoula a second mom, playing a major role in the care and quality of Chrysoula's life until the very end. Niece Francesca Giannis, enjoyed the added bonus of having Chrysoula as her beloved godmother.
Chrysoula was, in fact, loved or liked by anyone she ever worked or socialized with. It's impossible to think of her without her magnificent smile and loving, sparkling blue eyes.
Outside of her extraordinary dedication to family, her second love was in her service to God, specifically as a faithful member of St. Haralambos Church.
Services for Chrysoula will be held on Monday, March 10 at St. Haralambos at 7373 Caldwell in Niles. Visitation is from 10am, with services starting at 11am. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to St. Haralambos in her honor.
Godspeed, our darling Chrysoula.
