Betty Erickson, age 90, passed away in her home February 23, 2023. She was born November 9, 1932 in Chicago IL to the late Henry and Edna Reichenbach. She graduated from Roosevelt High school, and Northeastern Community College with a BA in Spanish in 1986. She married Granville Erickson and had two children, Kathy and Thomas. She was a homemaker and an avid animal lover, she served her community as a docent at Brookfield Zoo for 25 years and was active in the Des Plaines Park District Kennel Club. Betty loved to travel, sew, make stained glass, and refinish furniture. She is survived by her brother Richard, sister Joan, daughter Kathy (Joe), son Thomas (James) , grandchildren Amanda, Matthew, and Andrew, and great grandson William.

Family to receive friends Tuesday March 7th from 4-8 pm at Skaja Funeral Home 7812 N. Milwaukee Ave in Niles. Funeral service to follow March 8th 10:30 am at Skaja Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jerry Van Note officiating. Interment to follow Mount Emblem in Elmhurst IL. Flowers are optional, memorials may be made to Brookfield Zoological Society in Brookfield IL, Lutheran Family Services of IL, or the Salvation Army. Skaja Funeral Home in Niles is in charge of arrangements.
