Anna Jakubow (nee Skotynska), age 90, formerly of Niles, Illinois,  for many years, beloved wife of the late Marian Jakubow; loving mother of Michael Jakubow, Nadia (Edward "Henry") Krynski, Mary (John) Baccheschi, and the late Danuta (John) Huston; dear grandmother of Jason (Megan), David, and Valerie Krynski; Eric (Mariah) and Marc (Brae) Huston; Patrick (Anna) and Ryan (Jordan) Burke, Lindsay (Dustin) Manovski, and Andrew and Alex Baccheschi; cherished great grandmother of William, Wyatt, Weston, Norah, Miller, Joan, Glen, Kaylee, Maddie, Riley, Reagan, Bennett, Brody, and Brooks; she was preceded in death by her parents and sister.

Family was the center of Anna's world…aka Mama and Baba, she devoted her life to her children. Baba loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren, always offering to babysit, spoiling them with her homemade cookies, cakes and Polish meals, watching game shows together, or hugging them close when they would visit.

Anna passed away peacefully on March 28, 2025 at Addolorata Villa in Wheeling after a long and sad journey with dementia. Our family thanks the Villa staff and Suncrest Hospice care team for their support over the past few years.

We find comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her husband/our father, her daughter/our sister, and many other dear family members and friends. Mama/Baba, you were a shining light in our lives, and we will forever be grateful for your love. You will be missed!

All are welcome to join as we celebrate her beautiful life. Visitation is on Saturday, April 5, 2025, 9:00-10:30 am, at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home, 7812 N. Milwaukee, Niles, IL, with a prayer service at 10:30 am. The funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am at St. John Brebeuf Church, 8305 N. Harlem, Niles, IL. Interment immediately following at Maryhill Catholic Cemetery in Niles.
